Why did you choose to study RS A Level?

I always knew I wanted to study RS as I really enjoyed the subject at GCSE. All my A Levels are essay-based subjects and there is a lot of content to learn. There are a lot of links between my subjects, and the skills I have learned in RS such as debating and analysing I have been able to use in all my subjects. My advice is to pick subjects you love that give you the skillset you need.

Why did you choose to study your A Levels at Blue Coat and why would you recommend Blue Coat Sixth Form?

I was a Blue Coat student in lower school, and I stayed on for Sixth Form because I liked the familiarity of the school, the teachers and the routine. I came to the Open Evening, and after that I planned to stay on for Sixth Form. Blue Coat Sixth Form is more structured than other sixth forms but like the work ethic and the formal structure. I have made loads of new friends in Sixth Form from other schools.  It’s been refreshing to learn with others from different backgrounds and cultures. I have had a great relationship with all my teachers, and they have always been very supportive.

What are you hoping to do in the future?

I’m planning to study Law at University, and I want to work in family law in the future. It’s quite a personal ambition helping people rather than working in a corporate law firm. I knew I didn’t need to study Law A Level to do Law at University. I wanted to learn the skills at this stage rather than content. The A Levels I chose have given me the skills needed to study and practice law. I did work shadowing at a law firm in year 12 where I shadowed a solicitor to get a bit of experience. I took part in RS competitions about objective morality which developed my ability to analyse and argue a case. I have also been a Senior student, so I learnt persuasion and negotiation skills whilst working in a team. This is all experience and development I can use to study and work in Law.
