Entry Requirements

The following entry requirements will secure your offer of a place in Blue Coat Sixth Form:

Condition 1:

To guarantee a place at Blue Coat Sixth Form, all students must hold a minimum of 5 GCSE’s at Grades 9-5 including a Grade 5 in English (Language or Literature) and Maths.

Condition 2:

In addition, students must achieve at least a Grade 6 in the subjects that they wish to study in order to guarantee a place on their chosen courses. An equivalent subject with a similar skill set will be taken into account as an alternative measure in the case of an A Level course, which is not part of the standard GCSE curriculum.

Condition 3:

For the specific subject combination of more than one Science studied together (e.g. Biology with Chemistry) students must also achieve a Grade 6 in Maths in order to guarantee their chosen study programme.

The deadline for applications for 2024 is 22nd December 2023. Any application received after this date will be reviewed, however will be considered a late submission.

The facility to make a late application may be withdrawn at any stage depending on volume of applications received.
