The Sixth Form Day

We run a two-weekly timetable called P week and Q week.

There are no lessons Q week Wednesday P5 and so all students are permitted to leave at 1.10pm.

After a settling in period in Year12, the majority of students will have earned extra Sixth Form privileges . Students with privileges only have to attend Sixth Form for their timetabled sessions. This includes lessons, ILC sessions, Lecture periods, PM registration and scheduled Progress Meetings. Privileges will be at the Sixth Form Team’s discretion and parents/carers will be notified. Sixth Form privileges continue in Year 13.

Lunchtime

Students are allowed to leave the school site at lunchtime but must return promptly for the start afternoon registration. Sixth Form students who are not in lesson P4 are permitted to have early access to the school restaurant/sign out of school for lunch from 12.10pm.

Sign In App

Safety and security is a principle concern for The Blue Coat Sixth Form, therefore it is important to know who is on site at all times. As our students benefit from the ability to leave site at lunch, it is crucial for us to practice strict safety protocols to ensure everyone remains safe. Using the Sign In App provides staff with a real-time view of everyone on site. 

We encourage our students to download the Sign In App Companion. It is a free download and is available on iOS via the App Store and Android through the Google Play Store. A smart geo-fence knows if students are on-site or have left site, so all students need to do is tap to sign in or out. If a student is unable to download the Sign In App Companion, we have iPads installed in both Year 12 and Year 13 social areas so students can use these to sign in or out.
