Senior Students

All students at Blue Coat are given the opportunity to excel, to consolidate their strengths and follow their passions. We encourage all students to develop as leaders; to take responsibility for their actions and to realise the fulfilment that comes from working as part of a team. These are the qualities and values which prove integral to their future success.

All students have the opportunity to apply for positions as Senior Students at the end of their first year of Sixth Form study at Blue Coat.   The application process for the role of Senior Student is highly competitive with approximately half of Year 12 putting themselves forward each year.  As ambassadors for the school our Senior Students play a pivotal role in the daily life of school: leading assemblies, running the lower school councils and assisting with the appointment of staff.   The role offers many opportunities for successful applicants, developing skills and attributes which can be used to support applications to university, apprenticeships and employment.

Our 2024/2025 Head Boy is Bailey and Head Girl is Lottie.

Throughout my years at Blue Coat, the encouragement I received from both teachers and Senior Students led me to many opportunities that I believe have helped me become who I am today. Now I have the opportunity to give my peers and the lower school students the encouragement they deserve to become the best versions of themselves and to help them achieve everything they can during their journey here at Blue Coat, like I have done over the years. I am very excited to have a position where I am able to be a role model for other students whilst supporting them in every way I can.

To be able to act as a voice for those around me, developing opportunities for others to flourish in the same way, whilst showcasing what talent and ambition we truly have to offer at Blue Coat is such a blessing. I believe that being given the role of Head Boy provides me with the platform to not only act as a role model for younger students, but also play a vital part in contributing towards their success and the success of a wider society. It also gives me the opportunity to excel and use my strengths to strongly lead and benefit those around me. I am truly honoured to play such a vital role in the progression of a wonderful school.
