All students at Blue Coat are given the opportunity to excel, to consolidate their strengths and follow their passions. We encourage all students to develop as leaders; to take responsibility for their actions and to realise the fulfilment that comes from working as part of a team. These are the qualities and values which prove integral to their future success.
All students have the opportunity to apply for positions as Senior Students at the end of their first year of Sixth Form study at Blue Coat. The application process for the role of Senior Student is highly competitive with approximately half of Year 12 putting themselves forward each year. As ambassadors for the school our Senior Students play a pivotal role in the daily life of school: leading assemblies, running the lower school councils and assisting with the appointment of staff. The role offers many opportunities for successful applicants, developing skills and attributes which can be used to support applications to university, apprenticeships and employment.
Our 2026/2027 Head Boy is Tameem and Head Girl is Millie.

I hold my role as Head Boy of Blue Coat with esteemed honour and privilege. During my time at Blue Coat, I have grown into the best version of myself in every possible way. I am grateful for the opportunities that I have undertook over the past year in my journey to becoming Head Boy, and I look forward to seeing what the new Senior Student Team and I can collectively accomplish throughout the next academic year. I hope to leave a lasting legacy at Blue Coat, leaving behind an even better environment, alike to that of my predecessors – for the school, for the students and for the wider community.
-Tameem
I am honoured to be this year’s Head Girl. Since starting at Blue Coat in Year 7, I have been inspired by the Senior Students who have acted as role models to me. I am committed to being a positive role model for the school community to uphold its ethos and help younger students become “everything they are meant to be”. The school has offered me many opportunities over the years, and I hope to encourage others to embrace the opportunities available to them and rise to every challenge. I am looking forward to working with my peers and the Senior Student Team to act as a conduit between the students and the senior leadership team to continue to make a positive difference to the school community.
