Senior Students

All students at Blue Coat are given the opportunity to excel, to consolidate their strengths and follow their passions. We encourage all students to develop as leaders; to take responsibility for their actions and to realise the fulfilment that comes from working as part of a team. These are the qualities and values which prove integral to their future success.

All students have the opportunity to apply for positions as Senior Students at the end of their first year of Sixth Form study at Blue Coat.   The application process for the role of Senior Student is highly competitive with approximately half of Year 12 putting themselves forward each year.  As ambassadors for the school our Senior Students play a pivotal role in the daily life of school: leading assemblies, running the lower school councils and assisting with the appointment of staff.   The role offers many opportunities for successful applicants, developing skills and attributes which can be used to support applications to university, apprenticeships and employment.

Our 2023/2024 Head Boy is George and Head Girl is Georgia.

Throughout my time here at Blue Coat, I have thoroughly enjoyed getting involved with various social and academic events in and out of school. I believe this has massively contributed to both my academic and personal development into a young adult. Now as Head Boy, I believe it is my turn to give back and collaborate on ideas to help shape the futures of the lower school students, to make Blue Coat an even better place to learn and grow and gain new experiences. I would also like to lead the continuous hard work that Blue Coat students carry out fundraising for many fantastic charities across the year.

Helping others has always been a priority of mine. When I was in lower school, I loved getting involved in the various extra-curricular activities at Blue Coat, as they introduced me to new friends, and I had lots of fun taking part. As Head Girl, I want to be able to create even more of these opportunities. I have been on an amazing journey and had a wonderful start to my education, and I have accomplished more than I could ever imagine at Blue Coat through the support of the teachers, but also by following the examples and guidance of the previous Senior Students. I am happy to be in a position where I am a role model to other students at Blue Coat and contribute to their Blue Coat journey in any way I can.
